Grant Applications Due September 1: new, simpler application
The Greater Sauk Community Foundation invites grant proposals from area nonprofits for its fall competitive grant cycle. Applications are welcome from charitable organizations in Adams, Columbia, Iowa, Juneau, Richland, Sauk, and Vernon counties.
Applications must be received by September 1, 2017. The total amount available for the fall grants is $4,700, and individual grants usually range from $250 to $1,000. Complete grant guidelines and application form are available on the Foundation’s website at www.greatersauk.org.
This fall the Foundation is introducing a streamlined grant application process, including requiring submission by email rather than multiple hard copies by mail. According to Robin Whyte, Associate Director, “Our Grants Committee decided to simplify the application so our nonprofit partners can focus on their mission, not paperwork. The application is shorter and should be easier to complete.”
The Foundation is looking for innovative ideas that:
• propose practical solutions for a current community need
• promote cooperation and collaboration in creating positive change
• encourage volunteer involvement
• strengthen an organization’s effectiveness and stability
• address prevention as well as intervention
Areas of special interest include youth, education, the arts, health and human services, and the preservation of historical, cultural, and natural resources.
The Greater Sauk Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity established in 1998 to serve the philanthropic needs of Sauk and six contiguous counties, encouraging local donors to establish charitable funds to address local needs. Now celebrating its 20th year, the Foundation has distributed nearly $3 million in grants to local nonprofits since it was established.
