Greater Sauk County Community Foundation List of Funds
The Greater Sauk County Community Foundation has 37 charitable funds, which are described on this page.  Each of these individual funds has been established by organizations or donors.  Sizes and purposes differ, but all the funds exist to better serve the community.  

Gifts to any of the funds listed below are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Seedling Funds start small and grow during a specified time period without fees being assessed.  Granting can begin when the Seedling Fund reaches the required level.
1,)  REACH (Reedsburg Ecumenical Action Coalition on Homelessness) Fund

Designated Funds allow the donor to support specific organizations while the Greater Sauk County Community Foundation ensures grants to these groups remain relevant over time and are responsive to changing circumstances.  A minimum of $5,000.00 is required to establish a Designated Fund.
2.)  Alfred C. Behrman Fund, created through Al Behrman’s will to benefit Baraboo South Elementary School
3.)  Baraboo Kiwanis River Walk Fund, established by the Baraboo Kiwanis to benefit the Baraboo River Walk
4.)  Children’s Dental Care Fund, established by the Greater Sauk County Community Foundation board of directors to provide dental care for Sauk County children 18 years of age and younger who do not have access to dental services
5.)  Distinguished Elementary Teacher Award Fund, established by an anonymous donor to recognize teaching excellence at the elementary school level in the Baraboo School District
6.)  Excellence in Education Award Fund, established by the Baraboo High School Class of 1956 in honor of their teachers, to recognize teaching excellence at the secondary school level in the Baraboo School District
7.)  Founders Society, established by the Greater Sauk County Community Foundation as an endowment fund for the operations of the Community Foundation
8.)  Grants Fund, established by the Board of Directors following an initial gift from Harland & Loraine Hartmann, allocates funds for competitive grant applications twice per year.  Area nonprofits are invited to submit applications for funding for projects in a particular field of interest designated by the board of directors.
9.)  Harry & Irma Gray Scholarship Fund, funds scholarships for River Valley High School graduates
10.)  Sauk County Giving Tree Fund, established by Walt & Yvonne Smith to benefit the Sauk County Giving Tree
11.)  Sauk County Humane Society Fund, established by Phoebe Swazey to benefit the Sauk County Humane Society
12.)  Sauk County Sheriff’s Defibrillator Fund, established to provide defibrillators for the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department
13.)  Sauk County Sheriff’s K-9 Fund, established for the acquisition and training of a new police dog for Sauk County
14.)  School District of Baraboo Endowment Fund, established by the George F. McArthur Family, for the benefit of the School District of Baraboo.
15.)  Lt. Col. Elgin R. Marsh, Jr. Poynette High School Fund to provide an annual scholarship to a Poynette High School student , and to provide additional funding for the benefit of Poynette High School students.
16.)  James Irwin Fund, established by bequest to benefit the Sauk County Humane Society, the Friends of The Baraboo Zoo and Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Donor-Advised Funds allow donors or their designees to play an active role in charitable giving.  While the Foundation retains final discretion regarding distributions, donors can recommend grants to their favorite charities.  A minimum gift of $5,000.00 is required to establish a donor-advised fund.

5.)  Boardman Quale Hartmann Fund for the Arts, established to provide support for the classical arts in Sauk County
6.)  Corey Compton Fund, established by Corey Compton for the benefit of science programs at the Baraboo East Elementary School
7.)  DREAMS Fund, to support Dance, Drama education, Art, Music and Speech programs in the Baraboo School District
8.)  Robert G. & Patricia A. Hanes Fund
9.)  Harland & Loraine Hartmann Fund
10.)  Eldon & Doris Johnson Fund
11.)  Matthew L. & Joan M. Pinion Fund
12.)  RAFFLE Fund (Raising Awareness For Funding Local Education) established to benefit the Baraboo School District
13.)  Reedsburg Area Youth Basketball Fund
14.)  David & Karen Sacia Fund
15.)  Harry & Helen SaLoutos Fund
16.)  S.O.S. (Support Our Sports), Inc. Fund, established to provide financial support for 17.)  Baraboo High School boys and girls athletic programs
18.)  Virgil & Edith Hartje Fund
19.)  Tanner Zimmerman Memorial Fund
20.)  Billy Engelland Youth Fund, to benefit youth hockey and the American Diabetes Association.

Remembrance Fund established by the Board of Directors of the Greater Sauk County Community Foundation, allows individuals to be remembered or honored, and at the same time benefits the community.  Gifts of any size are accepted and are pooled in the Remembrance Fund.

The Greater Sauk County Community Foundation has been designated a 501 (c) (3) public charity by the Internal Revenue Service and contributions are tax deductible as provided by law. Copies of the most recent Annual Report, Form 990, grant guidelines and audited financial statements are available upon request.
